Season One of Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® live with new maps, modes, and more

Starting today, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players across all platforms can jump in together to kick off Season One with the largest free content drop in the game franchise’s history. In addition, the new Modern Warfare Battle Pass system is now live, giving players more ways to customize their experience by earning more new content and base weapons as they play through the season.

On a weekly cadence, the following content will be released:

New Multiplayer, 2v2 Gunfight, and Ground War maps

Crash, a fan-favorite multiplayer map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, has been remastered and reimagined as a helicopter crash site in Urzikstan, featuring the familiar flanking routes and rooftop encounters from the original.

Later in Season One, two more reimagined maps from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare are joining the lineup. These are Vacant, an abandoned office that lends itself to interior combat across the complex, and Shipment, which encourages fast, close-quarter combat.

The new Atrium and Cargo 2v2 Gunfight maps, the former set in a Verdansk palace and the latter in a cargo container ship in the London Docks, are also being introduced in Season One.

Finally, the last new location kicking off Season One is Port, a large-scale Ground War map where 64 players can square off across cargo containers, cranes, buildings, and streets.

Special Ops experiences

Classic Special Ops missions are arriving across Season One, including Pitch Black, Grounded, and Bomb Squad. In Pitch Black, players infiltrate Barkov’s vacant estate to recover and transmit on-site intel; in Grounded, they engage and eliminate Al Qatala militants to steal weaponry and air assets. Coming later in Season One is Bomb Squad, where players must defuse bombs planted in an Urzikstan city before detonation.

Additionally, a new Special Ops Operation is arriving: Operation Just Reward (coming later in the season) where the mission is to cut off Al Qatala’s money supply and hack their data centers.

New Multiplayer game modes

Starting today, the new multiplayer game mode, Reinforce, is available. This is a hybrid mode between Domination, Search & Destroy, and Search & Rescue, where players capture points to revive fallen teammates and win the round.

Further into Season One, the Infected and O.S.P. Gunfight modes will go live. In Infected, a survival party game mode, it’s hunt or be hunted as eliminated survivors return as infected enemies. O.S.P. Gunfight uses the same mechanics of traditional Gunfight, with the caveat that players begin each match with no weapons or equipment and must pick them up once the session begins.

New Weapons

The fully automatic bullpup RAM-7 Assault Rifle and Holger-26, a light machine gun spec of the Holger model rifle, are also being added to Season One. Both are earnable for free for all players.
