Blizzard Ninth Annual 5k/10k and Health Fair

Blizzard’s 9th Annual 5k/10K Run & Health Fair is a Huge Success!

When we’re working away behind the gates at Blizzard’s campus, surrounded by pets and pickup games, how do we make sure we stay focused? Well, there’s coffee, of course—but also exercise! In addition to our on-site boot camps, fitness centers, marital arts and yoga classes, every year we host 5K/10K “fun runs” at our campuses. This year marked our 9th annual event in Irvine, which was by far our most epic, with about 900 employees and their friends, families, strollers and dogs crossing the finish line!

We started doing annual runs in 2009 to release a little pent-up energy prior to BlizzCon each year. In our first year, nearly 100 employees participated in the run, and we captured their run times with a clipboard and a smartphone stopwatch app.  Today, these runs are bit more legit, with official timing, a medal ceremony, runners bibs, a fitness expo, and, of course, custom commemorative t-shirts for all participants. The event’s become a staple of our fall season, and we’re extremely excited to celebrate our 10th annual run in 2018!

Blizzard Campus Health Fare

The Blizzard Campus Health Fair coincided with the ninth annual 5K/10K run, and it was an epic success! We had over 50 vendors in attendance promoting everything from fitness services to healthy snacks, and more than 30 employees walked away with raffle prizes. There were free health screenings available, and attendees were treated to a Hi Striker carnival game, an on-site DJ, and free snacks.
