The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered arrives on Battle.net
Ready your swords — The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered is now available to play via Battle.net! And the generation-defining open-world RPG looks and feels better than ever, thanks to a host of visual, technical, and gameplay upgrades introduced in Remastered. So, before you head out to save Ciri from the Wild Hunt — whether it’s your first time on the Continent or a long-awaited return — let’s take a look at some of the biggest improvements you can expect.
Improved Visuals and Performance
From the windswept isles of Skellige to the bustling streets of Novigrad, the Continent has never looked better. Improved environment, NPC, and monster textures bring greater detail to the world, while major enhancements to foliage, lighting, rendering, and ray tracing give familiar locations new depth and atmosphere.
Geralt’s witcher signs have received some visual magic of their own. Aard, Igni, Yrden, Quen, and Axii have all been refreshed with striking new visual effects. And on PC, Path Tracing combines with Remastered’s other visual enhancements to deliver the most visually impressive version of The Witcher 3 yet.
And if you want to preserve those sights forever, you can do so much more easily now, thanks to the expanded Photo Mode. It includes posing options, camera controls, frames, filters, models, and more.
Updated Combat and Movement
Improved animations do more than enhance the visuals in The Witcher 3 — they also bring additional dynamism to movement and traversal. Vaulting, climbing, and interacting with the environment now feel more fluid and realistic than ever — as does combat. With revamped animations, brutal new finishers, and an adaptive camera, the action feels more dynamic and kinetic, helping you feel every swing, sign, and dodge like never before.
Speaking of combat, many of your opponents have also undergone something of an upgrade thanks to enemy behavior enhancements. Formerly routine encounters with enemies like wolves and drowners now feel much more immersive and reactive.
Skill System Overhaul
With enhanced enemy behavior, it only makes sense for Geralt himself to get an upgrade, too. The updated skill tree in Remastered introduces rebalanced abilities for the White Wolf, modernizing character progression and giving you greater flexibility in developing your build. Thanks to these changes, each skill point you invest will have a greater impact on your playstyle and Geralt’s abilities.
Interface and Quality of Life Improvements
The Witcher 3 is a sprawling open-world game that’s driven by a deep, branching narrative, dozens of engaging side quests, and a cast of unforgettable characters you’ll want to follow into all kinds of trouble. Remastered makes it much easier to navigate the world and its many stories with improved quest tracking, enabling you to see all available quests on the map at once and combining progression with exploration much more naturally than before.
This improvement comes as part of a broader UI refresh, which updates the main menu to make features more accessible. Notifications have also been updated to keep information clear and concise, helping you stay focused and keep better track of your progress. And if you’re the kind of player who can’t walk past a crate or barrel without grabbing its contents, good news: looting has also been streamlined, letting you pick up nearby items in batches.
Customization and Accessibility
Remastered also gives you more ways to make the experience your own. With the addition of transmogrification, you can reforge the look of your weapons and armor, altering their appearance without changing their properties — so you’ll never have to sacrifice style for stats!
And customization doesn’t stop with Geralt. Cross-platform mod support opens the door to a wealth of custom content, while new accessibility features offer greater flexibility in how you play. Together, these additions give you even more freedom to enjoy The Witcher 3 your way.
Between these sweeping improvements across visuals, movement, interface, and more, there’s never been a better time to experience Geralt’s legendary story — especially with more content already on the way! Songs of the Past, the third full-fledged expansion for The Witcher 3, is coming in 2027, and you can wishlist it now.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered is available now via Battle.net, so all that’s left to say is: see you on the Path!
