Feature Updates

Legendary Affix Removal

We are removing many Legendary essences across all classes. Please visit the Diablo Immortal Forums for the full list, found here.

We recently released a Dev Diary laying out an early outline of our new essence design that impacts your character builds, theory crafting, and end game content. You can read that on our forums.

Accursed Tower Challenge Optimzatio

We’re making changes to the Accursed Tower with the goal of making a better competitive environment, where strong participation and teamwork determines who maintains control.

To reduce the rush to secure a registration slot, the registration period for Match and Purification has been shifted earlier, giving Clan leaders more time to organize their teams rather than focusing on signing up.

  • Before: Monday 3:00 – Tuesday 21:00
  • After: Sunday 21:00 – the following Tuesday 21:00

This schedule adjustment applies to the Registration phase for both the Dispute for the Accursed Tower Finals and Purification matches.

We’ve also updated the Activity Calculation from displaying the number of Clan members who logged in from last Monday 3:00 to this Monday 3:00, to the number of Clan members who logged in from last Sunday 21:00 to this Sunday 21:00.

We’re also introducing activity-based eligibility, playing the previous weeks Accursed Tower Purification gives your Clan priority on joining in future weeks.

Improved Battleground PvP Matchmaking

We’re making changes to Battleground in the attempt to make sure you’re matched against players of comparable strength, creating a more consistent and competitive PvP experience.

We’re refining how Armor and Armor Penetration contributes to PvP matchmaking and combat strength evaluation. These attributes now more accurately reflect player strength, leading to more balanced matches—especially when a player’s overall power is not represented by just Resonance.

The Fractured Plan Affix Rotation

We’ve removed a few builds for each class. We’ll have sufficient builds for players to have diverse builds and options when playing Fractured Plane.

Tower War Season Updates

Running from August 12—September 21, this season of Tower War includes several gameplay improvements.

We’ve included a variety of new cards to expand strategy, further refined card balance to improve overall gameplay fairness, and added a surrender option so matches can end quickly if the outcome feels already decided.

Telluric Pearl Crafting Optimization

We’re streamlining the Pearl Crafting introductory quest to reduce unnecessary steps and improve the onboarding flow.

After collecting 40 Earth Pearls, you’ll still be guided to the Master Jeweler Vic in Westmarch. You’ll no longer need to complete an Eternal Realm before crafting the Legendary Gem. Instead, you can now complete the required Realm Crafting directly through Vic during the quest.

The quest objective and Gem Master dialogue have been updated for improved accuracy. Once the initial craft is complete, future Realm Crafting will be available through the Apprentice Jeweler Seril.

Challenge Rift Season 20

The new Challenge Rift Season begins on August 24—November 2.

This season introduces 50 new Challenge Rift levels (851-900), with Levels 881-900 serving as the highest difficulty tiers for players seeking the ultimate challenge. To help more adventurers continue their progression, the difficulty of Season 19’s high-end Challenge Rift levels (831-850) has been reduced.

The race for glory also makes its triumphant return. The previous server-first avatar frame reward will be retired and made available once again to the first players on each server to conquer Season 20’s final Challen Rift level.

Update the Engine to Earn Rewards

In September, Diablo Immortal will receive an engine update. Once the update is released, devices that have not installed will no longer be able to run the game.

You can update the engine ahead of time starting August 24th, and just by completing the update early, you can claim 10 Legendary Crests from an in-game event. Each character may claim this reward once.

This engine upgrade will rework the visual effects of nearly 100 affixes, improve lighting and shadows across more than 10 environments, reduce excessive lighting effects, and optimize ground and water materials.

These improvements will officially launch with the major September update, so we encourage you to complete the update preparations early. The update installs over your existing game client, so there is no need to uninstall it first.

Loyalty Point Reset

After the server maintenance, Inferno XIV Legendary Essences will be added to the list of essences available via the Loyalty Bonus system.

At the same time, all Loyalty Points will be automatically converted into Legacy Loyalty Points. Afterward, equipment obtained in Inferno XIV can be extracted into Loyalty Points. In addition, adventurers who have unlocked Inferno XIV difficulty will be able to use Loyalty Points to obtain Inferno XIV Legendary Essences.

Other Updates and Improvements

  • At the material vendor Yverius in Westmarch, the maximum amount of Enhancement Materials that can be exchanged in a single transaction has been increased from 999 to 9,999.
  • The Awakened Wing Systems introduces some new rewards and challenges for you to earn new wing variants. Hunt down new materials to earn these new wing variants.
  • While loading between demon slaying adventures, you’ll now see your hand-picked cosmetics and resplendent wings on the loading screen.
  • After closing the Set Crafting interface, the next time players enter the crafting interface, the system will remember the previously selected difficulty, set, and equipment slot.
  • Fixed an issue where changing the difficulty would reset the selected set and equipment slot.
