Since we last drew blades, you’ve crushed through cross-server Battleground matchmaking and weighed your blades against new balance changes in the realm. This content update brings an all-new Battleground mode Chaos Convoy, a new Monster Commander monster family, the Jade Fused Warlord battlepass, and more.

As with previous content updates, there will be server maintenance starting on February 3, from 4 p.m.–6 p.m. PST for Oceania, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe servers, and on February 4, from 12 a.m.–2 a.m. PST for servers in the Americas. After the maintenance has concluded, all items mentioned below will be live—specific dates for any features going live afterward are provided below.

Fight in the Chaos Convoy

From February 4—February 23, 3:00 a.m. local server time, battle in the Chaos Convoy, a limited-time Battleground match that has randomized power progression to amplify each match. Choose from randomized Gift of Corvus which grant powerful combat modifiers, where you’ll need to make decisions on the fly to adapt to the battleground, and to your opponent.

Taking place on the current Convoy map; before each Battleground match starts, you’ll be able to pick your first Gift of Corvus to power up your build. These offerings presented will be random, but you’ll be able to re-roll one of the cards that’s offered. Across the match, every 90 seconds you’ll be presented with another Gift of Corvus to amplify your build. Keep selecting cards as the game goes on, find your most potent combination to emerge victorious!

Gifts of Corvus can grant varying effects and modifiers, from increasing DOT damage, to increasing movement speed, summoning spectral weapons to fight alongside you, or even reduce your ability cooldown timers. There's more than 100 different Gifts to try, and virtually limitless combinations!

No two matches are quite the same. You’ll earn twice the Battleground rewards by playing in this limited-time mode.

Please note that during this event, Paragon Skills and Specializations, Warband Remnants, and Boss Skill affixes on equipment will be disabled in the Chaos Convoy game mode.

New Legendary Equipment

These powerful items drop in Inferno XI difficulty and above.

Barbarian

  • Carnage Call (Main Hand): Demoralize echoes off you for 3 seconds, dealing damage equal to a percentage of your maximum Life to nearby enemies every second.
  • Thrashabout (Off-Hand): Hammer of the Ancients now deals damage based on your maximum Life while performing a spinning hammer attack that is followed by a leaping slam. You are immune to knockback and loss of control for the duration of the attack, and the damage of the attack gradually increases.
  • Yoke of Legacy (Chest): Hammer of the Ancients also reduces the damage you take for 2 seconds. Cannot occur more than once every 6 seconds.
  • Ram Cords (Pants): Leap also Fears nearby enemies at your destination. Cannot Fear the same enemy more often than once every 6 seconds.
  • Shockscowl (Helm): Demoralize now roars at nearby enemies, increasing your maximum Life and inflicting them with Cowardice, which causes them to take additional damage when affected by knockback.
  • Hurtling Frame (Shoulders): Leap now jumps to a target location, damaging nearby enemies and granting you Fortified, which reduces your Attack and Movement Speeds, but also increases your maximum Life and damage.

Blood Knight

  • Stirred Depths (Main Hand): Enemies hit by Umbral Lance take increased damage from subsequent lances for 2 seconds, stacking up to a maximum percentage.
  • False Container (Off-Hand): Umbral Lance now hurls a trio of lances, damaging enemies and making them Bleed. A lance is automatically launched whenever a certain amount of Life is lost or healed.
  • Shaded Teeth (Chest): Blood Rush (Abomination) now causes you to dash forward while untargetable, knocking back enemies in your path and making them Bleed.
  • Crushed Pity (Pants): Abomination gains an additional skill while transformed that causes you to slam forward with your fists, empowering you with immunity to knockback and loss of control, and empowering your Primary Attacks to apply marks to enemies that cause them to take additional damage from your Primary Attacks.
  • Hearty Glutton (Helm): While an Abomination, Bleeding enemies deal reduced damage to you.
  • Tameless Revelry (Shoulders): Abomination no longer consumes Anger to transform and now grants increased damage and Life Drain that grows in strength over time.

Crusader

  • Cruel Attraction (Main Hand): Sacred Fire Critical Hits call sacred lightning down upon enemies, dealing additional damage. Cannot occur more often than once every second on the same enemy.
  • Pained Sentiment (Off-Hand): When Condemn deals damage to an enemy it also increases the Critical Hit Damage they take from you for 2 seconds. Cannot occur more often than once every 6 seconds on the same enemy.
  • Shock Doctrine (Chest): Condemn now creates an area of electric retribution that follows you, continuously applying Shock to enemies within. You also generate energy when moving while Condemn is active, which is consumed by using skills to call down lightning strikes on enemies.
  • Storm Saddle (Pants): Draw and Quarter now mounts you on a Storm Steed, increasing your Movement Speed and granting immunity to Slow effects. Using the skill again will initiate a mounted charge, carrying enemies in your path with you and applying Shock.
  • Azure Sacristan (Helm): Fist of Heavens now charges energy as you move and can only be used once fully charged, causing you to dash forward while wreathed in lightning, damaging and Stunning enemies. If used while mounted, two phantom steeds will perform the attack alongside you.
  • Jolt of Conviction (Shoulders): Fist of the Heavens Critical Hit Chance is increased against Shocked enemies.

Demon Hunter

  • Quickthorn (Main Hand): Rain of Vengeance also increases your Movement Speed.
  • Malicious Contrivance (Off-Hand): Sentry Critical Hit Chance increases when the skill is used, up to a maximum percentage.
  • Cloak of Knives (Chest): Vengeance now transforms you into an avatar of vengeance, removing loss of control and knockback effect, increasing Skill damage, and granting new active skills.
  • Protracted Wrath (Pants): Vengeance duration is increased by 0.2 seconds whenever a skill deals Critical Hit Damage, up to a maximum of 1.6 seconds.
  • Relentless Hunt (Helm): Sentry now summons a turret that automatically fires at nearby enemies and launches explosive missiles whenever you use a skill near it.
  • Capricious Ambush (Shoulders): Rain of Vengeance now fires a continuous volley of arrows at a target location that Stuns enemies.  This triggers automatically when other skills damage an enemy, using them as the target location.

Druid

  • Bristlebough (Main Hand): Surging Stone now raises vines in a target location that pull in and Stun surrounding enemies, and additionally empower your summons at the location into a frenzy, increasing their Attack Speed.
  • Teeth of the Fen (Off-Hand): Summon Oak Sage now consumes Primal Power to fire a volley of seeds that drop to the ground upon hitting enemies. Sling Sages grow from the fallen seeds and fire projectiles at enemies.
  • Budding Union (Chest): Circle of Life now conjures a swirling area of vitality that continuously heals allies and damages enemies within. Both healing and damage increase with the number of allies within the area.
  • Trapdacks (Pants): Summon Oak Sage Immobilizes enemies after they are hit 3 times within 3 seconds by your Oak Sages. Cannot Immobilize the same enemy more often than once every 5 seconds.
  • Savage Abundance (Helm): Circle of Life also increases the damage of your summons within its area for 3 seconds.
  • Woundfinder (Shoulders): Surging Stone also causes enemies to take increased damage from you and your summons for 3 seconds.

Monk

  • Elusive Verdict (Main Hand): Shield of Zen now empowers you, granting knockback immunity and damage reduction that is increased when using Dash skills.
  • Snap Judgment (Off-Hand): Flying Kick also increases your Critical Hit Chance for 3 seconds, up to a maximum percentage.
  • Vaiyu’s Mandate (Chest): Flying Dragon now generates energy when you hit an enemy with another Dash skill and consumes that energy to leap to a target location, crashing down to unleash a burst of wind that damages and knocks back nearby enemies.
  • Coalwalker (Pants): Flying Kick now kicks forward with a fiery assault that Burns enemies in your path.  If the kick hits an enemy, it can be used again shortly after.
  • Cunning Grin (Helm): Shield of Zen also increases your Skill damage.
  • Undue Censure (Shoulders): Flying Kick triggers an additional mystic kick when it hits, dealing additional wind damage. Can only trigger once per use of Flying Kick.

Necromancer

  • Frostgloom (Main Hand): Command Skeletons Stun enemies for after hitting them 4 consecutive times. The same enemy cannot be Stunned more than once every 6 seconds.
  • Misbeholden (Off-Hand): Bone Spirits now empowers you and your nearby summons, causing your Primary Attacks to inflict stacks of Encroaching Fear on enemies that eventually explode to deal damage and cause Fear.
  • Death After (Chest): Bone Spirits also increases your Primary Attack Speed for 3 seconds.
  • Grimwaltz (Pants): Wraith Form now transforms you into a spectral avatar, granting you increased Movement Speed and replacing your Primary Attack with piercing spectral bolts.
  • Gravemaster (Helm): Command Skeletons now summons skeletal puppets that are ignored by enemies and do not move or attack independently, instead attacking whenever you use your Primary Attack. They can be commanded to charge to a target enemy.
  • Sanguine Jewel (Shoulders): Borrowed Time also increases your Primary Attack Speed.

Tempest

  • Hullslasher (Main Hand): Rolling Surf now empowers you, causing your Primary Attack to perform a dash that damages enemies and shatters their armor.
  • Hailblade (Off-Hand): Crosswinds now empowers you, causing your Dash skills to generate a reserve of wind blades that are all released on your next Primary Attack to conjure a spinning wind blade, damaging nearby enemies and healing you if they are Bleeding.
  • New Dawn (Chest): Flowing Strike now empowers you, causing your Dash skills to unleash a wave that damages and knocks back enemies.
  • Bloodscent (Pants): Crosswinds deals additional damage to Bleeding enemies. Cannot deal additional damage to the same enemy more than once every second.
  • Sense and Lethality (Helm): Rolling Surf also causes enemies to Bleed for 3 seconds.
  • Memories Adrift (Shoulders): Flowing Strike also increases your Primary Attack Speed for 3 seconds.

Wizard

  • Planar Hook (Main Hand): Arcane Torrent now unleashes torrents of lightning at surrounding enemies, prioritizing Shocked enemies and dealing more damage the closer they are to you.
  • Lunar Spindle (Off-Hand): When Lightning Nova applies Shock to an enemy, they also take increased damage from you for 3 seconds.
  • Spark Shower (Chest): Lightning Nova now fires several lightning orbs at surrounding enemies, applying Shock and lightning marks. Marked enemies take additional lightning damage when damaged by Shock.
  • Legguards of Returning (Pants): Teleport is now used in three stages. The first use teleports you to a target location, the second use teleports again to another target location and deals damage, and the third use returns you to your origin point.
  • Veilwood Helm (Helm): Teleport also grants you a stack of Empowered Transit for 3 seconds. When a non-Teleport Skill deals damage a stack of Empowered Transit is consumed, increasing the Critical Hit Damage of that attack. Empowered Transit can stack up to 3 times.
  • Bellwether Pauldrons (Shoulders): Arcane Torrent's Critical Hit Chance is increased against enemies within near you.

Fear the New Monster Commander

When playing in dungeons, keep your guard high as you might find yourself face to face with a deadly new foe. The Monster Commander is a powerful new enemy—their greatest threat lies in their ability to rally the enemies around them in organized formations and coordinated attacks, turning familiar encounters with undead monstrosities into tactical combat scenarios that demand cunning and strategy!

Carefully Designed Tactical Formations

Monster Commanders will only appear in dungeons and currently feature two distinct formations: Shield Wall and Ranged Volley. Each formation is designed as a small combat puzzle, encouraging players to observe, adapt, and break enemy coordination.

Guaranteed First Kill Reward

Defeating a Monster Commander for the first time each day guarantees a Legendary item drop, ensuring that taking on these encounters is always worthwhile. Additional rewards scale with encounter difficulty, reinforcing Commander fights as meaningful highlights within dungeon runs.

More to Come

This type of dynamic enemy is part of a broader effort to make Sanctuary feel more responsive and dangerous. Following other systems like Cursed Shrines and Corrupted Heroes, Master Commanders are the next step in making your enemies fearsome, and responsive to how you play.

This system will continue to expand over time, with new formations, monster families, and encounter types for future updates. Prepare carefully, dungeons just became that much more treacherous.

Return of the Bout of Realms

The pinnacle of PvP Tournaments returns to challenge the best. Bout of Realms returns on February 25th, teams of 8 will compete against their servers to crown new regional champions.

  • Registration: February 25—March 1
  • Ranked Matches: March 2—March 6
  • Elimination Bracket: March 9—March 15

Champions will be crowned. The structure will be the same as previous Cross Server Bout of Realms tournaments, but not a Cross Regional Tournament. We’re looking to bring this back continually as a more frequent competition for more teams to compete, learn, and come back stronger each tournament.

At the end of this current Bout of Realms, we’ll be introducing a new type of competition that we’ve heard the community’s request for. Stay tuned for more details.

Tong-Shi’s Renewal Returns

Tong-Shi—a god of the Xian pantheon—invites you to his Renewal, a call to bask in the fading glow of a finished year, begin the cycle anew, and welcome a new year with open arms and optimism.

From February 4, 3:00 a.m.–February 26, 2:59 a.m. server time, players can complete up to five tasks a day to earn festive rewards, such as Red Bags and Tseym.

The 5 tasks to complete for rewards include: Dungeons, Elder Rifts, killing elite monsters, Bounties, and defeating Jingun (once he’s been found). Completing these tasks earns you Red Bags and Tseym. There is no limit to the number of times you can complete these tasks for rewards, but there is a weekly limit for how many rewards you can earn—30 Red Bags and 100 Tseym each week that Tong-Shi's Renewal is active.

Red Bags are celebratory Tong-Shi’s Renewal rewards that can be gifted to a friend or to your Clan. Not only will you receive rewards when you open Red Bags sent to you, but you’ll also receive rewards for sending Red Bags.

Spread the blessings of Tong-Shi’s Renewal by sending and receiving as many Red Bags as you can get your hands on! Don’t forget to claim a free Red Bag every day you log-in from the log-in rewards tab within the event, which will not contribute to your overall limit.

You’ll receive the following rewards for sending Red Bags in-game:

  • 1 Red Bag = 1 Normal Gem of your choice
  • 20 Red Bags = 2 Normal Gems of your choice
  • 40 Red Bags = 3 Normal Gems of your choice
  • 60 Red Bags = 3 Rare Crests

Completing daily event tasks can also yield Tseyms. Each time you contribute a Tseym, you’ll receive a random reward:

  • Gold
  • Scrap
  • Dust
  • Random Legendary Item

If you miss a log-in day, you can complete a quest to complete which will allow you to claim your missed rewards. You can use your Familiars to complete these bounties for your during Tong-Shi’s Renewal. Missed rewards must be claimed in order.

The Season 49 Battle Pass gleams across Sanctuary on February 12 at 3 a.m. server time, containing a Battle Pass rife with 40 ranks worth of rewards, such as Crests, hilts, Legendary Gems, and more.

Begin to secure the opulence of these resplendent items for your own by rising through the ranks before these gems shatter on March 11, at 3 a.m. server time.

Winds of Fortune Regale

Horadric scholars are deep in study, unraveling the mysteries behind a sudden surge in materialized wealth. Meanwhile, Sanctuary’s merchants waste no time, capitalizing on the phenomenon to expand their fortunes.

From February 4, 3:00 a.m.—February 11, 3:00 a.m. local server time, you will be able to activate a special boost and earn increased rewards!

While Winds of Fortune is live, activate your 24-hour buff to receive this boost. Once activated, the buff duration is in real time and will end 24 hours after it’s been initiated. If you have not activated the buff within 24 hours of the event ending, it will be enabled automatically. Any rewards not claimed before the end of the event will be auto-claimed on the next log-in.

During Winds of Fortune, the 4-player party Normal Gems bonus drop will be doubled and unaffected by the daily cap, and only the first twelve Common Gems of the day will be tradable.

Any of these items will drop in duplicate quantities:

  • Gold
  • Experience
  • Battle Pass Points
  • Normal Gems
  • Legendary Items
  • Items

Items from these activities will also drop in duplicate quantities:

New Reforge Loadout

We’ve added a fourth Reforge Loadout that unlocks with 480 Reforge Stones. We’ve also added a pop-up confirmation which appears before unlocking any new loadout to confirm your currently active loadout will be copied into the new slots when unlocked.

Challenge Rift Season 17

Challenge Rift Season 17 will run from February 23—May 4. 50 new floors have been added, ending in Floor 750 at 59,968 CR.

Floors 681 to 700 will be lowered, with Floor 681 going down to 56,200 CR and scaling up to 56,685 at Level 700.

Charm Effect Update

We’ve heard your feedback that Druid transformation attacks do not benefit from Charm effects.

Druid transformation attacks will now follow the same logic as Blood Knight transformation effects: basic attacks performed after transformation will properly receive Charm bonuses.

Changes to Clan Applications, Invitations, and Joining

We’re expanding the Community Build Recommendation Tab.

We’re adding a share button for the Top 100 players in Challenge Rifts and Battlegrounds. Players will now be able to share these builds in various chat channels in-game, QR codes, or text strings to share anywhere you want online. We’ve also made it easier to receive these builds through these methods.

If you want to receive a string share, copy the string and the game will auto detect when you launch or jump back in game.
