Prince of Freedom Main Quest

In Prince of Freedom, your pursuit of Albrecht leads you to the forest town of Highfork. To uncover his whereabouts, you'll need to join forces with unlikely allies, search the town for clues, and interpret a series of troubling visions—ones that foretell a dire future not only for Sharval, but for all Sanctuary. The people of Sharval long for a savior—but at what cost?

To begin the Prince of Freedom quest, you must be on Hell Difficulty I or higher, have reached Paragon level 60 or above, and have completed the Writhing Wilds quest.

Clobber the Competition in Party Duels

Want to prove you’re Sanctuary’s finest defender? Grab your best loadout and head to the Wilderness with up to three other players in your party. Using the new Party Duels PvP feature, you can initiate a duel with another team of up to four players. To get the fight started, click/tap on another player and select the “Challenge” button. Once your invitation has been accepted, a warmup phase will be initiated, and then the brawl begins!

To the winner go the spoils, which in this case are commemorative badges of your triumphant victory. All players can initiate a Party Duel, and any monsters in the vicinity of your duel will be excluded from the conflict.

Party Duels were created as a flexible, barrier-free PvP offering that can be engaged with on your terms. We look forward to seeing how you use this new way of playing.

Dare to Challenge the Bloomhollow

The Bloomhollow Helliquary bosses hunger for adventurers foolish enough to oppose them. These avatars of nature’s rot and decay—fey monstrosities awakened by the turmoil in Sharval—threaten to consume anyone who dares to tread upon their forested domain.

Thorncrown: This ancient fey is known to lurk within the darkest region of Sharval, hunting for humans. Ancient records indicate that the witches of the Untameable Wilds once communicated with Thorncrown by scratching symbols into wood. When the witches drew a human face, it repeatedly slashed at the drawing, reducing the bark to pulp.

Crooked Bough: Long ago, a circle of witches attacked a group of paladins within the Infested Monastery. Amidst the bloodbath, swarms of fey infested the church and invaded their bodies, burrowing into their open wounds. These corpses have since decayed beyond recognition, but the fey still use the husks to defend their land from any trespassers.

Abysslurker: Within the northern mountain ranges of the Sharval Wilds lies an abandoned bridge reclaimed by the land. The Abysslurker, a colossal fey, prowls within the depths below the stone overpass, waiting for prey. Few have dared to cross the bridge, and even fewer have been seen again.

Emerge victoriously from your fated duels with the Bloomhollow to unlock Inferno Difficulties VII, VIII, and IX.

Ancient Legendary Items

Powerful armor thought to exist only in tall tales told to fledgling warriors has been exhumed from the depths of Sanctuary. Five Ancient Legendary Helmets, each containing four Attributes and four Affixes, can be earned as a drop or crafted at the Blacksmith in Inferno Difficulty VII and higher. All Affixes on Ancient Legendary items are predetermined, with one new Affix being unique to each item. We’ll have more information about which Affixes can be found on these Helmets in a future article.

Ancient Legendary items can be acquired as a drop from the following activities: Helliquary, Helliquary Gauntlet, Vanguard, Terror Rifts, Oblivion Pillars, and Hellslayer Bounties.

To craft these Helmets, you’ll need to acquire 100 of a new resource called Ancient Artifacts, and visit a Blacksmith. This resource can be acquired from the following sources: Helliquary, Dungeons, and Battle Pass Daily Chests.

Once acquired, these new Ancient Legendary items will not only boost your Combat Rating significantly, but the Affixes they provide create new directions to take your build in. We’re extremely excited for you to beat back Hell’s spawn using Ancient Legendary items.

Set Hunter Event

Acquiring that missing set item to finish your build just got easier! Before beginning your next dungeon run, select the set you wish to target on the event’s menu or using the option at the bottom-left corner of the dungeon menu, then start your run as normal. If you did not receive an item from your selected set as a reward, then you’ll have an increased chance to receive it during your next dungeon run.

Here’s how the drop chance increases each time you do not receive an item from your targeted set:

  • Run one: 22% increased chance on your next run.
  • Run two: 33% increased chance on your next run.
  • Run three: 50% increased chance on your next run.
  • Run four: 100% increased chance on your next run.

Dungeons will continue to only drop set items they’re able to reward. For more information about which Set Items drop from each dungeon, visit the Codex. This event will be active from June 19–August 25, 3 a.m. server time.
