Overwatch 2 Beta Frequently Asked Questions

Blizzard Entertainment

The next Overwatch 2 Beta is on its way and will include console support, Junker Queen, and Rio—a hybrid map that’s home to Lucio’s “Clube Sinestesia!” This next phase of testing is slated to begin June 28 at 11:00 a.m. PDT and run until July 18. Please keep in mind the end date may be extended based on what our testing needs are at that time.

The beta will be available on PC, Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Because we’re expanding this beta to more platforms, all players, including those who previously had access, will need to opt-in again starting June 16 at 11:00 a.m. PDT. Players will need to specify which platform they would like to play on when they opt in for this beta.

We are here to help and answer some of your most burning questions!

Q. I had access to the first Overwatch 2 PVP Beta, will I automatically roll over to the next beta as well?
A. Beta access does not roll over from the previous Overwatch 2 PvP Beta. For the upcoming beta, our main goal is to test our console and cross-play capabilities as we scale up server testing slowly. Because of this, we need to select players based in part on their platform choice, so we’re launching a new opt-in process which tracks player platform preference.

Q. How do I get access to the Overwatch 2 Beta?
A. The new opt-in web form is now available on PlayOverwatch.com/beta is slated to stay open until June 28 unless we hit our projected maximum server capacity earlier. We’ll select a small group of players when the beta goes live on June 28 at 11:00 AM PDT and will steadily add more players over time as we ramp up capacity, with the first waves of larger access grants planned to begin on July 5.

Our goal is to provide access to ALL players that opt-in to the beta by no later than July 14.

Players who purchase the Overwatch 2: Watchpoint Pack on a platform on which the beta is available will be granted immediate beta access as soon as the Overwatch 2 Beta launches on June 28 at 11:00 AM PT, or whenever the Watchpoint Pack is purchased after the Beta kicks off.

Please note that if you are playing on a PlayStation device and opting in through our website, you will need to select the region in which your PlayStation Network account was created. If you do not select the correct region, you will not be granted access.

Q. Do I need to opt-in for the next beta if I opted in for the first?
A. Yes, all players will need to opt-in for the next beta regardless of their opt-in status from the first beta.

Q. On what platforms will the beta be available?
A. The beta will test Overwatch 2 on PC, Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Players requesting access on PlayStation in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Oceania should select "PLAYSTATION, EUROPE" as their platform. Actual platform availability, launch date(s), and duration of Overwatch® 2 Beta subject to change.

Q. How are beta participants selected from the opt-in pool?
A. Beta participants are chosen from our Overwatch beta opt-in pool based on a variety of factors. This can include, but is not limited to, your Battle.net region and the platform for which you are opting-in. We’ll also be inviting select journalists and community contributors from around the world to participate.

Q. How will I know if I’m selected to participate in the beta?
A. Players who are selected through our web opt-in process will receive an invite via email. Invites will always be sent to the email address associated with your Battle.net account.

Q. Will any progress I make during the beta carry over to the live game?
A. No, progress made during this beta will not carry over to the live game.

Q. Will Mac users be able to participate in the beta?
