Grandmasters Week 7: The Homestretch

Dylan Walker, Blizzard Entertainment

The final week of the regular season is upon us, and the playoff picture is becoming clear. Locking up the first place spot in each division yields a first round bye, putting the best in each region one step closer to that coveted spot at the Global Finals.

The field consist entirely of Mage, Rogue, Hunter, and Warrior this week with some variance in primary decks and more drastic variance in secondary and tertiary list. In terms of secondary inclusions [[Walk the Plank]] has become prevalent for Rogue, and we’re seeing more mech packages featuring [[Coppertail Imposter]] and [[Wargear]] across the board. Asia-Pacific’s Dasol “Ryvius” Sim brought Plaguebringer in his secondary, one of the new basic cards introduced last week. You can find all the Week 7 deck list on our schedule page here.

Surrender vs. tom60229—Friday, July 5, at 4am PT / 12pm CET

Chen "tom60229" Wei Lin has struggled to post results in Grandmasters Season 1 so far. His Week 7 opponent Kim "Surrender" Jung-soo is tied for first place with Yashima “Alutemu” Nozomi in Asia-Pacific's Division A. Surrender took a 2-0 win with Warrior over tom60229's Paladin in Week 3. He's on Rogue this week, while tom60229 opted to bring a version of the Mage deck he found success with at Masters Tour Vegas.

Casie vs. Seiko—Friday, July 6, at 11am PT / 7pm CET

In Europe’s Division B, Linh "Seiko" Nguyen is tied with Casper "Hunterace" Notto for 1st place at 8-4, while Kevin "Casie" Eberlein is sitting in the middle of the pack at 6-6. Seiko took home a 2-0 when these two met in Week 3. He's playing [[Vendetta]] Rogue into Casie's Bomb Warrior this weekend.

Rase vs. Purple—Friday, July 7, at 11am PT / 7pm CET

Both Lucas "Rase" Guerra and Ryan "Purple" Murphy-Root are sitting at 7-5 in America’s Division B. This match will likely decide who makes the playoffs and who will be watching from the sidelines. Rase won 2-0 when these two met last. He brought Control Warrior this week, which may struggle into Purple's more aggresive Bomb Warrior.
