Players on the Verge of Making Grandmasters

We’re excited to share the current leaderboard for players on the cusp of making Grandmasters by region. Only the top two players from each region will earn their spot in Grandmasters. These players will be the ones to watch at Masters Tour Bucharest, as a high placement there could be what secures their spot. They are listed here with a promotion value, which is what they would have taken home without the additional prize pool funding from the Masters Bundle.

Felkeine has all but locked up one of the spots in Europe with his win at Masters Tour Seoul, although he could possibly be dethroned by Zhym in Bucharest. In Asia-Pacific, posesi and Sooni lead the pack but if another player from the region outperforms them in Bucharest their Grandmasters dream may be extinguished.

In Americas it’s anyone’s game, as the region has struggled to find high placements at Masters Tour events thus far. That is, outside of Dog and Gallon’s bout in the Finals of Masters Tour Las Vegas. Dog was already a Grandmaster and Gallon has since joined the ranks in his stead, meaning the race in the Americas is truly wide open.
