Call of Duty®: Warzone launches today, free on all platforms

More than 100 players enter, only one squad leaves. Welcome to the ultimate theater of war; welcome to Warzone, a free Modern Warfare experience! Get the game free, gather your squad, and jump into the action today.

Download Details and Early Access

Warzone will be available today at 16:00 CET for players who already own Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare. After downloading the 23 GB update, head to the Warzone panel (previously named Classified) in the Main Menu.

If you do not own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Warzone will be available today at 20:00 CET and can be downloaded from Battle.net for free. Warzone is an approximate 80-90 GB download.

Entering Warzone

When you first enter the Warzone lobby, all players will participate in Warzone Orientation led by a Tier 1 SAS officer. The orientation will instruct you on key mechanics of Warzone and Call of Duty including aiming and firing, pinging, looting, completing Contracts, and more.

After orientation, players can get more experience by playing a Battle Royale practice match. Launch a Battle Royale practice match to play Warzone with bots and familiarize yourself with the map and game mechanics.

Mode Overview: Battle Royale

Survive with your trio to be the last team standing. Drop into Verdansk to loot and fight but be sure to escape the gas in the swiftly closing circle to come out on top of the competition.

Aside from standard weapons and equipment like armor and grenades, you can find cash on the map in Supply Boxes or earn cash by completing Contracts. Cash can be used at Buy Stations during the match to purchase game-changing items like Self-Revive Kits to bring back eliminated teammates or Killstreaks, like a UAV, to gain intel on the opposition.

If you are eliminated in Warzone, you will be taken as a “Prisoner of Warzone” and thrown into the Gulag. The Gulag is a 1v1 battle where the winner is granted redeployment back into the match.

In Battle Royale, the last squad standing wins, so use all your tricks and tactics to survive.

Mode Overview: Plunder

In Plunder, the race is on to collect the most cash. Infil into the match with your loadout and get ready to rumble. Hold nothing back and feel free to take risks; you have unlimited respawns in this mode.

You can find cash on the ground, in loot caches, from banks, by completing Contracts, or by killing enemy players and stealing their cash. When you die, you lose a percentage of the cash you are holding. To protect your cash, deposit it at a Cash Deposit Helipad or by using a special item – a Cash Deposit Balloon. These Balloons are found in Supply Boxes or purchased from Buy Stations.

After one squad collects $1 million in cash, the bonus round begins. This is a two-minute period where squads scramble to come out on of the leaderboard and do everything they can to collect cash. Whoever has collected the most cash at the end of the limit wins the match. Try your best to collect $1 million first, and your cash will be auto deposited and safe from getting stolen. Then, keep collecting to ensure you stay in first place!
