Duels: Season One has Begun!

Blizzard Entertainment

Duels: Season One has begun! Thank you to everyone who played through Duels: Early Access. Duels is now accessible in-game to all players from the Modes menu and comes in two flavors (with two separate matchmaking pools)—Casual and Heroic!

Casual runs are free and are a perfect starting point for exploring the mode and experimenting. Heroic runs feature success-based rewards identical to Arena rewards, including gold, arcane dust, cards, golden cards, and card packs from the latest expansion. Heroic Duels runs cost 150 gold or a Tavern Ticket (US $1.99), which have replaced Arena Tickets, and now grant entry to Arena or Heroic Duels. If you’ve been sitting on Arena Tickets, you can use them on a Heroic Duels run now!

Now that we’re in Season One, each class will have access to 2 Hero Powers and 3 Signature Treasures! These new Hero Powers and Treasures can be unlocked by meeting the below criteria associated with your Collection.

  • New Hero Power (All Classes) - Own 20 unique Scholomance Academy Epic cards.
  • Signature Treasure #1 (All Classes) - Own 10 unique Madness at the Darkmoon Faire Epic cards.
  • Signature Treasures #2 (All Classes) - Own 100 unique Madness at the Darkmoon Faire cards.

Speaking of the new expansion, as of today Madness at the Darkmoon Faire has been added to the pool of eligible cards you can use to build your 15-card starter deck!

Current card sets eligible for Duels:

  • Madness at the Darkmoon Faire
  • Scholomance Academy
  • One Night in Kharazan
  • Whispers of the Old Gods
  • Curse of Naxxramas
  • Basic
  • Classic

The theme for Duels: Season One is Wizard Duels, which brings several familiar professors and luminaries from Scholomance Academy to the mode, each representing a different class and playstyle! The theme will change at the end of Duels: Season One, new Heroes will be added, and some Treasures will rotate out to make room for new ones. Check out the Hero Powers and Signature (starting) Treasures we added in the 19.0 patch:

Demon Hunter

Mage
Paladin
Priest
Rogue
