Here you'll find a list of hotfixes that address various issues related to World of Warcraft: Battle For Azeroth. Hotfixes

January 7, 2020

Battle Pets

  • Jenafur has grown tentacles.

Player versus Player

  • Players who earned the appropriate PvP rating for a Battle for Azeroth Season 3 title while the season was inactive, but then dropped below the required rating before the season could be reactivated, should earn that title when first logging in after the weekly reset.
  • [With realm restarts] Corrected an issue that prevented players from receiving loot after completing last week’s “Conquest’s Reward” quest.
    • Developers’ note: If you are up to date with Conquest rewards, you’ll be able to complete this week’s quest after maintenance, and then move on to the next one. Players who earned the 500 Conquest necessary for the quest will still receive their weekly PvP chest and players who didn’t complete last week’s quest will remain unaffected.

WoW Classic

  • Resolved an issue that caused /stopattack or /startattack macros to pause the swing timer (rather than reset) when used with abilities such as a Warrior’s Slam).
  • Fixed a bug that caused Somnus to permanently evade after being leashed across zone boundaries.

December 20, 2019

Classes

  • Paladin
    • Holy
      • Resolved an issue that caused Divine Favor (PvP Talent) to increase the healing of Flash of Light and Holy Light if removed during their spell casts.

Dungeons and Raids

  • Karazhan
    • Chess Event
      • Players once again are always rewarded with loot after defeating this encounter.
      • The encounter no longer sometimes incorrectly resets after players defeat it.

Player versus Player

  • Azerite Traits
    • Burning Soul, Pack Spirit, and Twist Magic are now correctly set to have 20% effectiveness in PvP.
      • Developers’ note: In a previous hotfix, we reduced the effectiveness of all Tier 3 Azerite Traits that offer healing or absorbs to 20% in PvP. Unfortunately, three traits: Burning Soul, Pack Spirit and Twist Magic were incorrectly set to 25% effectiveness in PvP. This issue has now been corrected.

WoW’s 15th Anniversary

  • Historians Llore and Ju'pa should no longer fail to present a question for the quest "A Time to Reflect.

WoW Classic

  • [With realm restarts] Paladins should no longer lose stacks of Reckoning if they are not facing their target or are out of range to attack the target when the Reckoning stacks are gained.

December 17, 2019

Dungeons and Raids

  • The Eternal Palace
    • Orgozoa
      • Reduced the health of Orgozoa on Mythic difficulty.
      • Reduced the health of Orgozoa, Zoatroids, and Orgozoa’s naga allies by 5% on Mythic difficulty.
    • Queen’s Court
      • Reduced the health of Silivaz and Pashmar by 5% health on Mythic difficulty.
    • Queen Azshara
      • Powering up an Ancient Ward or draining Azshara’s Ward of Power now reduces the maximum health of the caster by 8% per stack on all difficulties (was 10%).

November 22, 2019

Achievements

  • The Mecha-Done achievement is now account wide.
  • Condensed Life-Force: The Guardian of Azeroth (Essence) pet should no longer have delays between its casts when the player has very high levels of haste.

WoW's 15th Anniversary

  • Fixed an issue that caused Outlaw Rogues that used Killing Spree against Ragnaros to teleport into the incorrect Ragnaros encounter.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused players to lose their WoW’s 15th Anniversary buff.
  • Korrak's Revenge
    • Commanders Karl and Louis Philips now have an equal amount of health.
    • Commanders Duffy and Malgor now have the same health.
    • Korrak the Bloodrager now resets and evades enemy attackers if he’s led 100 yards beyond his spawn point.

WoW Classic

  • The appropriate "Membership Card Renewal" quests will now be available to players who swap their Engineering specialization.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented enemies from dropping threat on Rogues after they used Vanish.
  • The in-game combat log radius has been fixed, and now only displays information for units that are within 50 yards of the player.
    • Developers’ note: This change better reflects the original behavior of WoW 1.12, and should eliminate the ability for addons to extend players’ senses and detect enemy actions at a greater distance than intended. This fix does not affect text logs that the game outputs for raid parses.

November 13, 2019

WoW's 15th Anniversary

  • Spellstone Delight now breaks upon taking damage.
  • Reduced the speed at which Defile would increase in area and damage during Memories of Azeroth: Wrath of the Lich King.
  • The achievement Memories of Fel, Frost and Fire is now account-wide.
  • The Obsidian Worldbreaker mount will now be immediately rewarded once a player earns Memories of Fel, Frost and Fire (previously it was delivered via in-game mail).

WoW Classic

  • The Windsor’s Frenzy buff is again properly restricted to the small area around Marshal Windsor.
    • Developers’ note: This correction restores the buff’s functionality to its original 1.12 behavior.

November 12, 2019

Classes

  • Resolved an issue that caused Survival Hunters’ Mending Bandage (PvP Talent) to heal more than intended on non-player targets.

WoW's 15th Anniversary

  • Korrak’s Revenge
    • The amount of Timewarped Badges rewarded for winning or losing Korrak's Revenge have been doubled from 10 and 5 to 20 and 10.
    • The repeatable quests “Irondeep Supplies,” “Coldtooth Supplies,” and “More Armor Scraps” no longer reward Timewarped badges.
    • Many quests in Korrak's Revenge now are daily quests and reset daily. They are as follows: “Irondeep Supplies,” “Coldtooth Supplies,” “Towers and Bunkers,” “Capture a Mine,” “The Graveyards of Alterac,” “Armor Scraps,” “Capture a Mine,” and “Alterac Valley Graveyards.”
      • Developers’ note: While acquiring supplies from the mines and mounts for the ram and wolf riders contributes to the battle, we agree with the feedback that these can be a bit repetitive. To that end, we have converted a number of quests within the Battleground into dailies and removed the reward for the repeatable turn-ins.

WoW Classic

  • The guards in Gadgetzan, Booty Bay, and Everlook now have a significantly longer range on their ranged attacks.
    • Developers’ note: We’re seeing some players attack others by abusing line-of-sight rules in Gadgetzan. This disruption is against our Terms of Service (as it was in 2006) and we’re taking action against players who exploit this game mechanic. While this new range differs slightly from orginal WoW 1.12, it better enforces the authentically intended consequence of PvPing in a goblin city by challenging the attacker to fight, die, or escape the guards.
  • The Discombobulator Ray will now correctly dismount mounted enemy players.
  • Abilities that provide a damage increase to the next auto attack (e.g. Heroic Strike and Raptor Strike) will now properly break crowd control effects if the ability was queued before the crowd control was applied.
  • Corrected an issue that prevented pets from attacking a target who entered stealth after the Attack command is used.
  • Corrected an issue with the Gnomish Cloaking Device that caused it to incorrectly drop the player from combat when used.

November 8, 2019

WoW Classic

  • Guards will now correctly be more willing to assist players in PvP combat who have Friendly or higher standing with them. However, they will continue to not assist players with Neutral standing.
  • Corrected an issue that was causing Onyxia to fail to clear the threat of the primary target of her Fireball ability.

November 7, 2019

Classes

  • Fixed a bug that caused Holy Priests’ Spirit of Redemption to trigger before Guardian Spirit in some circumstances.

WoW’s 15th Anniversary

  • Korrak’s Revenge
    • Korrak the Bloodrager
      • Korrak now spawns 2 minutes after the start of the match.
      • Increased Korrak's health by 60%.
        • Developers’ note: By delaying the spawn timer of Korrak the Bloodrager and increasing his health, both the Horde and Alliance will have time to reach Snowfall and battle over his loot.
  • Players level 10 through 60 now have their items appropriately scaled while participating in Korrak's Revenge.
  • Fixed a bug where some players weren't awarded achievement credit for Alterac Valley of Olde while within the Hall of the Stormpike area.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players who do not have the Battle for Azeroth expansion activated on their account from queueing for Korrak's Revenge.
  • Memories of Azeroth
    • Resolved an issue where Heigan the Unclean's health was notably low.
    • Ragnaros should more reliably cast Molten Seeds and Engulfing Flames.

November 5, 2019

Dungeons and Raids

  • The MOTHERLODE!!
    • Fixed a bug where multiple pools of Rixxa Fluxflame's Azerite Catalyst could trigger their initial ticks of damage at the same time.
    • Fixed a bug where multiple spells during the Mogul Razdunk encounter were dealing an unintentional amount of damage to pets.

World

  • The Charging Station should more reliably spawn on days that it is available in Mechagon Island.

WoW’s 15th Anniversary

  • Fixed an issue that caused players to lose access to their Lil’ Nefarian battle pet and Obsidian Worldbreaker mount if they logged out after acquiring them. Missing mounts and battle pets have also been restored to their owners’ accounts.
  • Fixed an issue that caused healing and tank specialization players to enter the queue as a damage-dealer when queuing for the Memories of Azeroth raids if they were a party leader or sole member of a group.
  • Korrak's Revenge should now grant credit toward the Epic Battleground requirement for the quest, “Storming the Battlefield.”

October 22, 2019

Dungeons and Raids

  • Azshara’s Eternal Palace
    • The Eternal Palace is now available for cross-realm groups on Mythic difficulty.
    • Lady Ashvane
      • Lady Ashvane’s health reduced by 5% in Mythic difficulty.
      • Rippling Wave damage reduced by 10% in Mythic difficulty.
      • Waterlogged periodic damage reduced by 10% in Mythic difficulty.
    • Queen Azshara
      • The "Stand Together!" and "Stay!" decree combination is no longer possible in Heroic difficulty.
      • Overzealous Hulk and Tidemistress health reduced by 10% in Mythic difficulty.
      • Draining Azshara’s Ancient Ward now reduces its energy by an additional 5 points in all difficulties.
      • Empowering a Ward of Power now increases its energy by an additional 5 points in all difficulties.
      • Healer-specialization characters are now less likely to be targeted with decree combinations that include “March!” in all difficulties.
      • Short Circuit now drains 10% less energy from the affected Ward in all difficulties.
      • Essence of Azeroth now has an increased duration if there are fewer than 20 players in the raid in Normal and Heroic difficulties, and lasts 30 seconds (was 25 seconds) in Mythic difficulty.
        • Developers’ note: These changes were made to smooth out the difficulty curve of the instance as we transition into the next raid tier, something we often do after all Mythic Raid Hall of Fame slots have been earned.

Player versus Player

  • The start time for the Battle of Nazjatar is no longer fixed to a 3-hour interval. The delay between events now has random variance.
    • Developers’ note: As players have learned the timing of the event over the course of Rise of Azshara, increasingly the perceived optimal way to participate is to camp the control points in advance of the start time. By adding some variance (which still averages out to a 3-hour interval), we hope to make the Battle for Nazjatar more dynamic without reducing the overall frequency of the event.

Quests

  • "Energy Cells for Everyone" now resets daily (was weekly) and will be automatically removed from players’ quest logs with the daily reset.

World

  • The Charging Station construction project in Mechagon now appears significantly faster after the Charging Station is destroyed.

WoW Classic

  • Fixed a bug that caused creatures such as Solenor the Slayer to misbehave when pursuing the player. Groups of creatures that commit to combat as a group will now all continue to pursue whenever any one of them are struck by a player attack or ability.

October 16, 2019

Items

  • Increased the chances for someone who does not have a Rank 4 Condensed Life-Force (Essence) to loot it from Queen Azshara (Mythic difficulty).

  • Resolved an issue that prevented characters that have not yet obtained their 9th weekly Conquest’s Reward from gaining the Spoils of War buff (50% bonus Conquest) during Rated Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds.

Quests

  • The weekly Island Expeditions quests, “Azerite for the Horde” and “Azerite for the Alliance” now reward 2,000 gold for players with a maximum-level Heart of Azeroth (level 70).

World Quests

  • Naga Incursions now award gold or war resources to players who can no longer progress their Heart of Azeroth (level 70).

User Interface

  • Adjusted the War Campaign UI to more clearly show which quests players need to complete to access every part of the War Campaign.

October 2, 2019

Items

  • Heart of Azeroth
    • Blood of the Enemy, Artifice of Time, and Sphere of Suppression Rank 2 now requires 10,000 Honor (was 15,000 Honor) and Rank 3 now requires 30,000 Honor (was 50,000 Honor).
      • Developers’ note: We fixed a bug that incorrectly allowed Honor rewarded from quests and mercenary mode bonuses to contribute toward the “Battlefield Brawler” and “Battlefield Tactician” achievements required to unlock these Essences. To account for the quests and mercenary mode rewards no longer contributing credit toward these achievements, we have reduced the Honor amount necessary to earn these Essences. Rank 4 for these Essences will remain unchanged. Players who are now at or above the new Honor value will need to earn some Honor for the achievement to update.
